Steve Woodward

Vice President, Innovation, Learning and Development, Red Roof

As Red Roof's Vice President of Innovation, Learning and Development, Steve Woodward is focused on developing and implementing programs that enable Red Roof leaders, team members, associates, and franchisees to raise the bar through helping others to build on their strengths while unleashing the capabilities of empowerment to deliver exemplary experiences.

A 35+ year veteran of the hospitality industry, Steve joined Red Roof in 2015 to assist with training and staff development and was promoted to Vice President in 2021. Drawing on his 21-year experience in the restaurant industry, where he was previously Senior Director of Organizational Behavior & Design/Talent Management for Steak ‘n Shake, has been instrumental for Steve as he works to shape enhanced training and retention strategies required to succeed in today's landscape.

Since joining Red Roof, Steve has also worked to improve the organization's internal communications framework and further align the company's various operational silos. As a strong relationship builder, Steve has continuously found new ways to improve training through modern technology for current team members while laying the groundwork for future leaders at Red Roof.

Steve holds a degree in business with a minor in English from High Point University.
