The Fall event is an opportunity to learn important new information and local developments; recognize local winners of OHLA’s Stars of the Industry Awards program; and include your voice in important discussions. Topics will include:
- Ohio’s School Start Date
Some school districts across the state started earlier than ever, as the start date creeps into early August on its way to July. Coalitions of parents, family groups and others are starting to ask Ohio to look at later start dates, and legislation has been introduced in the Ohio General Assembly. Learn about the proposals and the possibilities for action.
- Federal Action on Zika Virus
Left unchecked, the Zika virus, could grow to become significant threat to the travel economy. Find out what action you can take to help ensure our elected officials take necessary steps to combat Zika.
- Important local issues
Discuss initial experiences with the new Cincinnati Bell Connector streetcar service, airport shuttle surcharge, new hotel projects and more.
- OHLA Update
From important pending changes to how per diem rates could be calculated in the future, to Airbnb, to illegal lodging taxes and more, OHLA is working on behalf of hoteliers and the travel economy every day. Get a brief update on our new activities underway, and our plans to address important issues just over the horizon.
Join us at breakfast in welcoming and recognizing professionals who earned OHLA Stars of the Industry Awards! These local winners will be eligible for consideration for statewide and even national recognition. Making sure that Cincinnati’s properties and professionals are represented in those competitions is important to our local market.
